Title: Staff Accountant
Hours: Full-time position
Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Salary: Depends on your level of skill and experience

Although it’s definitely not required, we’ll be super-impressed if you have previous experience working at a law firm or using case management software like Needles and/or Filevine.
What would I be doing every day?
The Staff Accountant reports to the Chief Operations Officer and works with the Senior Accountant. The Staff Accountant performs in a fast-paced environment with layered job responsibilities. Day-to-day duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintaining and balancing the record of the business’s income and expenses by inputting data into QuickBooks accounting software, verifying the data with the appropriate staff and/or vendors, and resolving any inconsistencies.
- Printing and disbursing checks from multiple accounts.
- Setting up vendor/provider files.
- Accurately recording client invoices and expenses.
- Performing accounts payable and receivable tasks; recording and paying bills and maintaining electronic files of payments; recording deferred client expenses and periodically uploading files to case funding company.
- Performing biweekly payroll time calculation of hourly employees.
- Perform accounting tasks related to cases that have been settled and the funds disbursed or waiting to be disbursed in Trust Accounts.
- Making electronic check deposits to banks.
- Performing monthly credit card reconciliations.
- Periodically auditing firm accounts. Preparing consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from accounting software and from departments.
- Analyzing information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.
- Recording and/or developing accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
- Answering accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Protecting the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
