LEAH YODER
Attorney
“The only way to do great work is to love what you do.”
– Steve Jobs
Leah was born in Indiana and raised in South Carolina. She attended the University of South Carolina and graduated magna cum laude with a major in criminal justice and a minor in psychology. She enjoyed taking a variety of classes like ceramics and the psychology of marriage. While at U of SC, Leah interned for 2 years at the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office where she learned to love the law. Leah was also involved in intramural sand volleyball and held several leadership positions within her sorority. Leah remains a die-hard Carolina Gamecock fan.
During college, Leah’s parents moved to Knoxville, inspiring Leah to investigate law schools in the state of Tennessee. Leah toured the University of Memphis’s Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law and knew it was the place for her. While at Memphis Law, she was a Peer Mentor for incoming 1L students and an Articles Editor on Law Review. She was a book worm and graduated cum laude in the top of her class. Outside of the classroom, Leah gained practical legal experience through an internship with the General Counsel at the Memphis Shelby County Airport Authority, an externship with the US District Court for the Western District of Tennessee working for the Honorable Judge Tu Pham, and a clerkship working for the Honorable Judge Mary Wagner at the Shelby County Circuit Court.
Leah graduated from law school with a passion for the law of torts and for helping people. That passion led her to the field of personal injury and her first job with a local personal injury firm. Leah is exceptionally bright and has the compassion, grit, and determination to make every case a win.
Leah truly understands what her clients are going through because she has been through it herself. When she was in elementary school playing outside and riding a razor push scooter, a dog jumped over a fence, ran up behind her, and attacked Leah. When she was in high school, Leah and her family were involved in a car wreck so serious it was a miracle they all survived. Leah knows the pain and anxiety that incidents like a dog bite or car wreck can bring about, and she is dedicated to helping her clients through difficult situations like these.
In her free time, Leah enjoys trying new restaurants around Nashville, going to Knoxville, seeing concerts/plays, traveling, and thrift/antique shopping.
