Defective Drug Litigators Demand Accountability from Responsible Parties
Protecting injury victims in Nashville, Knoxville, Hendersonville and throughout Tennessee
As children, we’re taught that medication makes us better and stronger when we are ill – even if some drugs require a “spoonful of sugar” to make them easier to swallow. It’s no surprise then that we believe the same thing as adults. But year after year, dangerous drugs make their way onto the shelves and into our pharmacies, and often lead to unforeseen and potentially dangerous consequences.
The defective drug lawyers at Rocky McElhaney Law Firm offer superior service and compassionate care to people who have been hurt or harmed by dangerous drugs. Our “Gladiators in Suits” have dedicated their lives to fighting for justice on behalf of injured clients throughout the State of Tennessee. We have an in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical field, and we understand exactly how to build a winning medical product liability case.
Which devices and drugs can be “bad”?
It is required by law that all pharmaceuticals carry warning labels about their potential side effects. However, a number of drug manufacturers abuse the loopholes set by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and even market their drugs for off-label uses which are not FDA approved. Among the worst offenders are:
- Erectile dysfunction injections such as Bi-Mix, Tri-Mix and Quad-Mix
- Cholesterol medications like Liptor
- Anti-depressants such as Paxil and Zoloft
- Testosterone replacement therapies (TRT) like Androgel
- Diabetes medication including Actos
- Hip and knee replacements by Stryker and DePuy
- Hip, ankle, and knee replacements by Exactech
- Anti-nausea medication Zofran
- Anti-psychotics such as Risperdal and Invega
- Power morcellators used to break up tumors, which end up spreading cancer
- Pelvic mesh, also called transvaginal mesh, used in surgeries to correct a prolapsed uterus
It is important to note that not everyone reacts to these drugs in the same way; millions of people take Paxil and Lipitor and never have a reaction. For some, however, the side effects can be deadly. Pregnant women taking anti-depressants can miscarry and increase the chances of their baby being born with a birth defect. Young men taking Risperdol have an increased chance of developing larger breasts and of lactating. Men who take Bi-Mix may experience priapism – a condition which, left untreated, could cause permanent impotence.
Rocky McElhaney Law Firm has been incredibly successful in protecting the rights of victims of defective drugs. Our experience litigating complex product liability cases gives us an added advantage in dangerous drug cases, and we educate ourselves every day about pharmaceutical dangers. If you suffered because of a defective drug, or if your loved one died because of an undisclosed side effect, we have the ability and the resources to help.
