During her undergraduate years, Mackenzie's curiosity led her to explore international law and relations at Vesalius College in Brussels, Belgium, showcasing her interest in a global perspective on legal matters.

Her legal journey continued at Notre Dame Law School, where she earned her law degree, further solidifying her foundation in the intricacies of the legal system. Throughout law school, Mackenzie's dedication to public service shone brightly as she interned at esteemed institutions such as the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and the US Senate, gaining valuable insights into the workings of government and the legal landscape.

True to her Tennessee roots, Mackenzie returned to her home state to embark on a career dedicated to advocating for justice for the people of her community. Mackenzie currently lives in Nashville where she shares her home with Maisel, her beloved rescue dog who, in her own words, "runs the show."
